hissoon :  I think a nice watch is more commonly given as a wedding or anniversary gift, but you can do what you want! I just bought my husband one for our second anniversary. I didn’t have an engagement gift prepared for him, but I don’t really know that it’s a thing in my circle. He also proposed a lot sooner than I was expecting him to. He was over the moon that I said yes and that our plans to get married were that much more real, which is the whole point 🙂

I personally would give it as a wedding gift, but really any time is a good time to give someone a present!

I gave my husband a watch as an engagement gift. This was shortly after we got engaged. I don’t think there’s really a right or wrong time.

I’ve got my husband to be a watch for his wedding gift. I am so excited to give it to him!

Do you know which watch you are going to go for?

When we looked at engagement rings at one jeweler, my then fiance was especially interested in one watch. We ended up not getting my ring there, so the discount that would have gone towards the watch didn’t happen. He still talked about the watch every now and then, as something he wanted and would save for. Over time he forgot about the price and general look of it, just remembered it as a watch he really liked (we started looking at rings about six months before the wedding date). He wanted it so bad, I had to hint that I was getting it so he wouldn’t go and buy it himself!

So, I saved up, and the morning of our wedding, I had a note and the engraved watch. It was awesome. He loves it and he wears it whenever he gets dressed up. It was expensive, but not near as expensive as my engagement ring. I was happy to be able to get him something really nice and sentimental that he picked out and wanted, just like he did for my engagement ring.
