That dress is beautiful!  I would call your local Alfred Angelo salon to ask them what they have… I believe they would have all types of sizes.

I would also map out your local bridal salons & make appointments to try on dresses. Call and ask before what sample sizes they carry. Some salons will only have size tens but I think you’ll be able to find several that will have plus sizes.

Trying on dresses will also help clarify your idea of the perfect dress. I thought for sure I wanted a specific type of dress and all my clippings from magazines were basically the same style.  Then I started trying on dresses…  I had to go back to the drawing board and review what looks were best on me.  Another note, I’m a wedding dress size 14 and was dreading dress shopping (it was my first post on WB) but once I started looking, I really enjoyed (most of) the experience. The more I looked, the more of a grasp I had on what styles flattered my figure and fit my style.  I found a Maggie Sottero dress that I loved on me… I think her dresses have a great fit on many body types.  Good luck!

i had the same fears when it came to trying on dresses. i went to a local salon and they had TONS of dresses in bigger sizes. the got a casablanca and the sample i tried on was a 12. i could try it on, i just couldnt zip the back…which was a lot better than i expected. i know the salon i went to had the alfred angelo and it was with the larger sized samples..but im not exactly sure. i would call salons in your area and ask if they have the dress and what size the sample is. i did that for a casablanca i wanted to try.

Yeo! Alfred Angelo had a ton of samples in my size (18/20). I went to the Los Angeles store, but they did have a ton of dresses in my size. Good luck!!

That dress is grogeous.

I had the same experience as @knikolle. I thought for sure I wanted an empire waisted v-necked a-line dress. But when I tried them on they were kind of blah on me. I ended up with a silhouette I would never have chosen on my own. For what’s it worth. definitely call ahead and ask if they have plus size sample. I am a street size 22/24 and tried on 18s and 20’s (without zipping the backs) and that helped immensely.

I had great success at Alfred Angelo (I wear a 24/26 btw), and was treated very nicely, too. Good luck finding your dress! 🙂
