What style is it? Is there a seam at the waist where you could replace the skirt? It would help a lot if you could post a picture!

Yeah it would be easier, I think (not that I am a seamstress or anything!) to add material at the saist. You would be able to either use some of her train material or maybe see if you can add like a different material altogether. You seem quite non-traditionalist (I’m feeling that because you said about having a visiable petticoat at the bottom) so you could even go for a cummerbund look with a different (vintage ?) fabric around the waist like a super thick sash-kinda hting.

I’m not explaing myself well – this is what I mean in pictorial (kinda) form.

waist-defining same-colour/style wrap-style with bit of bling.

Or something completely different.

Or somethign inbetween

hope that better illustrates what I mean ๐Ÿ˜‰

@bostonrh no probs! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m not very good at verbally explaining. Can’t wait to see pics of your dress!! : )

@BrandNewBride lol awww thanks!! ๐Ÿ˜€ I have a lot of problems with fit of clothes (I have a long waist and gorrilla long arms and a massive butt) so I have fixed mine up along the years. Never professionally, mind you!
