@Sapphire-Dreamer: Well I don’t see anything wrong with it either. I know he would want to get me exactly what I love because he knows how picky I am about everything girly that I buy (purses, dresses, shoes, etc). The problem is that he has no idea that I am even aware he is looking and I don’t know how to make him aware without throwing my Mom under the bus (he told her and she wasn’t supposed to tell me). Hahaha. Anyway I will bide my time for now…Mom knows what I love and I am almost certain he will consult her before buying because he drove her nuts texting her about the solitaire pendant he got me for Xmas. I think I’ll send the spec to my sister too just in case he asks her. If all else fails the Birks saleman gave me a huge catalogue with my ring on a full page spread, so I could always pin that to the fridge. lol

My SO and I had been looking through magazines and talking about rings lately. Last Sunday, I just couldn’t help myself. I went Engagement Ring looking by myself while I was out and about. The next day I went back and took my sister with me and fell in love with two rings. The lady at Kays wrote down the style numbers and my sister is giving it to my SO. I would be SO happy with any ring, but if I got one of those two, I would be the happiest girl in the world. I mean, I might sort of know what I’m getting (if he gets one of those, which I hope he does!) but it will still be a surprise since I won’t know which one I’ll be getting for sure!
I don’t think theres anything wrong with going ang trying on rings. Your SO will want to get something you will love, and its hard to tell what you REALLY like from magazines. You need to see the styles on your fingers to really know what looks good and what you like.
