I was a disgusting, sweaty mess at my dress fitting

Dude, I was the same way.  I love my dress, it’s beautiful, but during the fitting I think I was sweatier than normal.  To start, it’s frigging hot as balls outside here, and I had walked (in the city) to get to the salon so I was already sort of hot.  Then the excitement of trying THE dress on.  Then all of the layers, and the not so great breatheability.  The 2nd fitting wasn’t nearly so bad because I wasn’t as worked up.  I don’t that on the day of, it’ll be as bad as you think!

Other bees have mentioned adding a hoop to the skirt, which prevents the dress from sticking to your body. That’s one idea!

A bit drastic but this is originally what Botox was first used for – they’d put in little jabs of it under the arms before celebs walked the red carpet to avoid sweaty patches on expensive designer wear.

Do some mindfulness, calming meditation on the day of to feel centered and not so anxious. It seems to be a combination of perspiring for two reasons: from the humidity and stress. On the day, make sure the room in which you’re going to change into your gown has good air conditioning if its a hotel.  Maybe have a nice cool water shower before you start getting ready? Give yourself enough time to get ready so you don’t rush.

Will it be as hot outside as it was today when you get married? Good weather would be a big plus. Hope it all goes well.

I had sweat running down my legs at my dress fitting as well. Those tulle skirts are hot as hell. On my wedding day, I took the skirt down and I swear I saw steam come off me.

I was also a sweaty mess in all my fittings, but it wasn’t nearly as bad day of (I did get married at the end of March though, the weather was low 70’s). You should be okay, the salons are always super hot!

I was terribly sweaty at my dress fitting sweat was running down my legs and everything it made me  nervous about how I’d be on my wedding day too. Especially since I get hot and sweat very easily. I used deordrant spray on my entire body the day of. Luckily my venue had the air BLASTING so because of that and the spray I didn’t have sweat dripping off of me but I did feel hot half way through the reception, and I started to understand the point of “reception dresses” I always thought it was dumb to pay so much for a wedding gown and not even wear it the whole time but even though I LOVED my dress I started to really wish I could change to lighter clothing towards the end of the reception.
