So, after losing 45 lbs in the past 4 months (almost 100 lbs total since my high weight)I tried on my corset and spanx today. Front, ok fine…meh, could be better, has been a lot worse.
Back…O.M.G. BACK FAT. BAD. 🙁
I started freaking out, “Oh my god I have back cleavage, it might hang over my dress…it’s like 2 inches of blubber!”…
Then, I said F-it and I just don’t care. I’m SO tired of worrying how I will look that I just DON’T CARE NOW. If my friends and family are going to talk literally behind my back that I look bad after I tried to lose so much weight and I’m healthier now and happy and in love and marrying the most wonderful man alive, then so be it. I will either wear a bolero or shrug or just go without. Whatever. I have succeeded in boring myself out of self consciousness.

@sehrler: I have such insecurities about my arms from loosing weight that I hated the thought about wearing a strapless dress and all wedding gowns are strapless just about. My mom made me a beautiful bolero and I felt secure and happy.
I am sure you will find soemthing that will make you feel comfortable and secure on that day. Screw everyone else.

Congrats on losing so much weight!! That’s amazing.
I know how you feel — sometimes I look in the mirror and freak out over something that only I am fixating on. Others never see these things that we think are so obvious and terrible, first of all. Second of all — everyone in your life loves you (I assume :-)) exactly as you are. So if you have some back skin hanging over your dress, big whoop — let it hang!

WOO HOO!!!!! Congrats on the weight loss and don’t stress if you’re not a stick. Your fiance probably doesn’t want to marry a stick anyway. You’ll look awesome and, what’s more important, you’ll be confident which is the most sexy and beautiful thing of all!!!!

Thanks, I’m just so tired of worrying about everything! Right now I am dealing with a dental implant, this whole entire wedding, FI’s family craziness over a will, a 40 ft hole in our roof (!!!), a collapsed ceiling in one of our rooms (with family heading here in under 4 weeks to stay for the duration of the festivities) and my wedding dress that was supposed to be here “no later than” the first week of July is still MIA. I am just letting the chips fall where they may and screw anyone who doesn’t like how things turn out or how I look.

It sounds like you’ve found the right attitude! If anybody is whispering behind the bride’s back ( no pun intended, I swear!) on her wedding day, whether she’s 100 or 500 lbs, they’re the ones with a problem, not the bride!
Do you have before and after pics? I’m determined to lose about 80 lbs before my wedding next year and I would love some (th)insperation!

@Jilliebean1: thanks! I don’t have any pics (at least on my comp) of me at my highest weight for obvious reasons. But I have a couple of really bad pics at my recent spiked weight, I had lost over 90, gained 36.5 and now have lost 45 again so I’m down nearly 100 total. Can’t believe i’m posting these…
by the way check out my thread here:
I had a major dress disaster, ordered a custom dress in January and yesterday it arrived, it was the wrong dress so I had to re-shop!!! awful. especially with my body image problems. I still feel huge.
here is are 2 “now” pics in the new dress
