One of my BM’s husband knows someone who is a director. He was making a movie about vampires and needed extras. They told us to come dressed goth and it was so much fun. I had to leave early before they were able to finish (I worked this morning and by midnight they had only finished the panning of the audience) but it was so much fun.
Here is the best picture of the night:

Awesome! Background work can be fun but you have to pack your patience that’s for sure! I’ve never done one where I’ve gotten to dress up funky, always just typical day stuff (Goodwill Hunting, etc). Although once I did a Tony Little commercial and he sent all the extras free Gazelles for Christmas! That was awesome! Maybe I should get back into it now that I have so much free time on my hands…

That sounds like so much fun!

It makes me want to do it more often now too. I don’t think I could do lines or anything, I would be laughing way too much, but background would be so fun!

@bakerella Wait, Gazelles? What are those?
Looks like you had a blast! What are the perks of doing this–just something neat and exciting to do, or do they give you a little money or some sort of gift or something?

@veganglam: I don’t think there were any perks besides having your name in the credits. It wasn’t even a big film I don’t think. But it was hilarious seeing some of those people dance (it was like a club/bar background scene)

Too cool! My BFF/MOH and I want to be extras in a zombie movie someday. We want to wander around looking gross and dead, muttering “brains!”. 😉

What a neat experience for you guys! I’d love to be a vampire or zombie, too, lol. A new show debuts on AMC on Halloween called “The Walking Dead” and I heard they were needing extras in Atlanta. I would’ve killed (haha, pardon the pun) to be in an episode!

@SweetRose2011: We must be from the same area!! I saw something posted on Facebook about needing them on the 24th — Good for you for doing it, looks like fun!!
