I’d wait until you wear it for a bit to see how you like the fit.  When I got mine, I thought it was perfect and within a couple weeks, I realized it was too big.  I had been waiting for 5 years so I understand not wanting to give it up to be resized, so I waited 8 months to have it resized.  I got it back, wore it for a while and realized it was STILL too big, and I just had it resized again last week.  What I discovered about my hands is that the part where I wear the ring is super thin compared to my knuckle.  So, when I got sized, they were basing it on going comfortably over my knuckle, and that was causing the ring to spin on my finger like crazy.  I needed to go down to the point where it just made it over my knuckle to be comfortable to wear.

So, the point of my long-winded story is just wait and see how you prefer to wear it once you have it.  Everyone is different.

My ring is a size 4-1/2 I think? Super small. I was also worried about it being too tight but the sales associate in the store thought I should go even smaller! Now that I’ve had it for 7 months its totally fine – my fingers also seem to be bigger in the summer/heat (so may have been swollen when I was sized). I do have troubles taking it on and off sometimes but windex solves that. Otherwise I love it the way it is – so for you, I wouldn’t worry about it at all.

I heard of a couple (this may be a popular thing but I’ve only heard of it once) who bought the wife a ‘baby band’ she could wear while pregnant and her fingers were too swollen. Each time they had a baby they had it engraved with the date of birth… it was really sweet! That way you still get to wear a special ring while you’re pregnant.

In terms of resizing metal too much, I have a ring I had made smaller, and I plan on making it bigger (to fit another finger) later down the track, the jeweller said it would be fine.

by the way HOW EXCITING about the ring being in the house and proposal coming soon?! congrats!!!

@shinythingsrule:  I clean my ring about once a week I would say. I much prefer that to taking it off when I shower, wash my hands, put lotion on (which I do a lot), etc. I just don’t want to take the risk of losing it by forgetting it on the counter or anything.
