It’s very pretty but I wouldn’t buy this early. It just gives you way too much time to have dress regret!

I bought my dress 7 months out from our wedding.

I bought my dress 12 months out. I would wait a bit. Dress regret is very real.

I had my dress gifted to me when I was 18! I worked in a bridal shop that closed and the store owner told me to take anything that I liked, and I had my eye on a Maggie Sottero. 3 years (and 2 engagements) later I finally wore it for my hsuband!

By The Way, that style is beautiful on you! If you’re absolutely certain, there’s no harm in ordering. But you have to be 100% sure. Stores do discontinue gowns yearly.

dress regret is real, but I dont think there’s a perfect way to go about avoiding it. I could buy a dress for anything a month before then still look to change it 4 days before hand. But that’s how my head works.

I didn’t go until we had our venues booked because we’d had a lot of bad things happen to us recently and I didn’t need any more bad luck by shopping for a dress before we had everything down.

This isn’t a general thing but in some circles it’s bad luck to try on a wedding dress before you’ve booked your venue. It’s a stupid supersticion but in my case, we didn’t need any more lmao.

edit: that dress is also very beautiful on you

We were engaged December 13th and I got my dress on January 29th.  Our wedding is July 22, 2017.

I wouldn’t buy it yet just in case you find something you like even better at another bridal salon. I think, after going to a couple more bridal salons, if you still love this one, buy it! I bought my dress 13 months before our wedding. Now we’re 5 months out, and I haven’t changed my mind at all. I don’t really understand “dress regret” or “ring regret,” but that might just be me.

I think if it’s the style you were looking for and you love it you should go for it. I feel like people get dress regret because they go for something completely different from what they had in mind and then they find that they would have preferred to get something that was what they were originally looking for. Once you buy, don’t go looking at other things, that’s how you start down the dress regret road!

I waited until 7 months  from the wedding

apra26 :  That dress is beautiful!! <3

It really suits you ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m a firm believer that if you love it you should buy it ๐Ÿ™‚ I bought my dress in October 2015 for my wedding this year and have had no regrets.

cuscotopia :  is completely right. When you’ve bought it, stop looking ๐Ÿ™‚ I haven’t had any regret since I bought mine (which was the first of only 4 dresses I tried by the way!) and I’m really excited for my first fitting ๐Ÿ™‚

Book your venue first, then go buy your dress. I personally have two different friends who bought their dresses too early on before choosing a venue, then their dresses ended up not matching the vibe of the venue at all. Both ended up selling their dresses and buying new ones.

It is a beautiful dress! However, I think you are dress shopping waaaay to early. I would wait until after you have a venue chosen and secured. I am going dress shopping next month and the wedding is in May 2018. It is still too early in my opinion, but because we are doing a Destination Wedding we have moved everything in our time schedule up atleast 2-3 months (save the date out a year ahead, invitations at 5-6 months, RSVP due 3 months, etc).

And if you do say yes to the dress, I would stop shopping around afterwards because dress regret is a real thing!
