I just came up with candy apples for my fall wedding:) Easy and cheap! Totally personalizing them with a tag or stamp of our names and date!

Your gusts are coming 10 hrs to see you marry the love of your life, not for the favor you are giving them. Are you also providing food, drinks, cake, etc? If so, you are doing your duty. I drove to Michigan to be in a friend’s wedding and I can’t honestly tell you what, if any, favors we were given. I do remember the good time I had dancing with her family and partying all night long.

Also, I just really love those cute and tasty marshmellows on a stock 🙂

Honestly, most favors are cheap and guests aren’t really expecting them these days anyway. Most of the weddings I go to, half of them get left on the table. Your guests just want to have a good time and see you get married. They aren’t there for the favor.

I’ve seen great hot chocolate favors in cone shaped bags, with the choc powder in first, then marshmallows on top and tied with a pretty bow. Like this:

K I have kind of a weird question for this candy apple idea. I am having a fall wedding too and I want to do caramel apples. But I’m worried the older people with dentures won’t be able to eat them. Is that an odd concern or should I just go ahead and make them?

You could do hot chocolate in cone bags. This was shared on the bee awhile back. Here is the link: http://diy.weddingbee.com/topic/couples-cocoa  It looked classy yet would be inexpensive especially if you made your own cocoa mix. I can buy those mini dehydrated marshmallows by the pound locally so if you need them pm me. They should be cheap to ship they are mostly air!

@sourlemon: LOL I did not even think about that. Thank God Fiance g-parents don’t wear them. I would just make them… maybe they can cut them up at home.

@cherryblossomlove: My Fiance looked at me like I’m crazy when I told him, but I can’t help it, lol.

I think the smores are a cute idea!  Like the others said, it’s more the thought that counts.  We had little bags of candy on the tables and probably only 1/4 of our guests actually remembered to take them.  So with that in mind, make sure your favors are something you’ll eat/use later.  😉

@Roux: This is really cute! I think this would be great for hot chocolate favors.

@heather5743: Your smore looks great too! As PPs said, a lot of people don’t even pay attention to the favors. The best favors are edible favors since nobody has to take them home or keep track of them all night. I think those are pretty creative!

@heather5743: I think its fine to expect people to take them home and use their own mug. Personally I wouldn’t want a mug because I have only nice set of china, and then my favourite mug I use everyday. If I got a cheap mug, or one with your wedding date on it, I’d goodwill it or chuck it out. Remember people really dont care about favors! They are coming to celebrate with you not get token little gifts.
