@MrsTangerine:  yes, but if they’re HUGE, the site automatically sizes them to the max for the site

@Ninteenthchance:  Right, because it can’t be bigger than the allowed area.  When posting it pretends you can make them smaller with the little square dragging guides, but they don’t work, so anything the same or larger is still max site width, even if it let you make it smaller, which is why people freak out a lot.  I know my reaction was “I just made that half the size!” when I first posted pics and they reverted to full upon posting.  It’s a little disconcerting.

@MsMeow:  Strange, I’ve never gotten a spam message on WB!

My my pet peeve is “commenting to follow”!!! Why don’t people just select the follow thread option? And of corse, bad grammar and spelling.

I almost apologised for a long post I just wrote, but then realised that I don’t like it when others do that, so I skipped it.
It’s broken up into easy-to-read bits, and you don’t have to read about my boring car woes if you don’t want to.

I’m OK with a long post… I am fully able to click away if I don’t want to read… but for the love of reading PLEASE write in paragraphs, and with basic punctuation! PLEASE.

I wish bees would stop giving unsoliticed financial advice. While I’m sure there are quite a few multi bajillionaires on the bee…I just doubt they’re the ones all up in other’s wallets because they’re too busy being concerned about their own money. I find it extremely tiresome when someone’s talking about spending her own hard earned money and people comment like “if you don’t own at least 2 houses, an investment property, 2 cars, a yacht, and have $500k in the bank….you can’t afford that $8 engagement ring”

Uh. When did Suze Orman go anon and join the bee? Just stop, unless someone has started a thread asking for advice, or pm’d you asking for a loan…just stop.

@QuirkySocialite:  Your rant made me chuckle. So true. They’re basically the “sancti-moneys…”

I actually avoid any student loan threads for this reason, b/c honestly, I’m sick of seeing how x, y, and z had the wisdom of a 45 year old stockbroker at age 17-8 and either 1) had parents pay for school, 2) chose a state school, or 3) went into a program that didn’t cost as much as college and they have no student loans now ::insert smug grin:: I’m sorry that I wasn’t as wise at 17-18 and had zero real-world advice (both parents never went to college and had no clue about anything and my guidance counselor quit the year I was doing college apps). Those same people also tend to look/treat those with student loans as if they are deadbeats and leppers, hence I avoid any “debt” or “student loan” threads. Don’t need to get any more depressed.

::End rant::

ETA: What I find interesting is that Suze Orman actually was over 6 figures in debt and almost living out of her van for a while. Just proves that you can make something out of nothing.

I agree, but this is more of a suggestion to WB developers than to the users. I remember how confusing it was when I first started coming onto the site,  and the suggested posts would be archaic, but I didn’t even realize because the posts focus on wedding dates not post dates!  Also kills me when I do a search and I can’t see when the thread was started in the search results!  Seems like pretty base function of online boards but it’s buried on this one!!!

Hey ladies! There’s some great suggestions in here! Anyone who has site recommendations, please create a thread in the “ideas” section so we can review it and take it up with our tech team! 🙂 We are always looking for great ways to improve WeddingBee for our users.

I wish people would stop posting links to photos instead of just posting the photos themselves.  But that’s just laziness on my part I guess.

I am new and even I know to look at the date the thread was started ,because the Bee with the dress dilemma from 2 years ago probably has her answer now…. Just look at the date of the original post.

@shrinkgirl:  LOL…I think most ppl who do this is because you can’t upload photos when you’re on most mobile devices. 🙂 By the way, are they fixing that anytime soon?

I wish people would stop asking for advice when really they just want people to agree with their predetermined opinion/decision. In that case don’t ask “what should I do??”. instead post, “tell me I am right in as many ways as you can, and don’t respond if your opinion differs in any way shape or form!”
