Ok, maybe not 50… but more than 1! I can’t decide!
So here’s the story: my dad is a classically trained, professional musician and spent half his life playing for weddings, so he has a pretty traditional view about what is to be played at a ceremony. I think if I played anything with lyrics he would probably have an ulcer over it. I know that walking to Trumpet Voluntary would completely make his day, and I do like it too, but I envision myself walking to something more understated and romantic… like a piano or guitar solo. I heard a piano version of From This Moment On by Shania Twain that’s really pretty, and I love that song, but I’m scared that he’s going to be offended by my non-traditional choice. I know it’s my day, but I’m sure some of you understand that parents can get in the way of you making your own decisions sometimes…
I also like the Bridal March by Jonathan Cain.
And Marry Me by Train.
And For You by Duncan Sheik. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ckxm7eecTg
Sorry this is turning into a ramble… I’m just so conflicted!
Does anyone else have traditional parents that are making you second guess your music choices?
