Mine only cleans when given specific tasks. Even then, I have to specify please clean the bathroom. The bathroom includes the toilet, the sink, the shower, the mirror and the floor. If I don’t specify, it doesn’t happen. I think i’m just hiring a cleaning lady (and making him pay for all of it!)
Also, he is afraid of bugs so I have to kill them. Like dude, if you are going to fall into old fashioned gender roles, please at least kill the spiders!

I’m thanking my lucky stars because my Fiance is cleaner than I am (not a clean freak but is decently clean and orderly and will sometimes clean up after me lol) haha.
I wish he would be more confident of himself. His family is working class and he has been out doing part time jobs since like 14 so he doesn’t have very good self-esteem in our relationship. It’s silly because the whole being independent and self-sufficient thing is part of his charm and the one of the reasons I fell in love in the first place.

Tidy up and/or do chores using his own initiative, rather than after me asking. It makes me feel like a nag! Hehe xo

BeeDD : my boyfriend is exactly like this. Im trying to be super supportive even offering to pick up more hours if he finds somewhere new to work at and has to start at part time or a lower pay rate if it means a job that he feels is more of a career.

ladybugmama : Yup it can be tricky! I honestly just want him to be happy, but I can’t force him 🙂
I figure he’s been so supportive of me for the past 12 years, I just need to be patient with him because what he’s doing (or not doing) isn’t having any significant negative effect. That doesn’t always make it easy 😉
