@jadlnc:  Thanks!  I love it too.  It was originally purchased to be my ‘something blue.’   I didnt get to have a wedding, so that didnt happen, LOL

Usually they look so black in all lights – but this was in the kitchen and it was sunny (these are  my v-day flowers – the idea was from an old thread)

Anyways – the sapphires are not native to the ring and were added in at my FI’s request – and so because of this they actually two different cuts. ๐Ÿ™‚ I like that its unique ๐Ÿ™‚ You can tell if you look close that the faces are diff sizes.

@MyrtletheTurtle:  Yes it was custom; I designed it myself, and had it made from gold and diamonds from three rings of my grandmother’s, and mother’s.  FW wanted a Victorian style ring.

Not sure if this really qualifies, but it is blue topaz and may give you an idea of colour if nothing else. The necklace was from my SO.

@MyrtletheTurtle:  Its a diamond – though only because it was my Fi’s choice. I was dying for a pink morganite and rose gold ring (about 500 bucks worth) – but he is one of those ‘only a diamon for my girl’ type guys. I love it now though ๐Ÿ™‚

PS Sapphire is my birthstone ๐Ÿ™‚

Mine is a Ceylon Sapphire. It’s a deep rich blue under the sun and bright lights. When it’s not too bright, it’s almost see through. It’s interesting and hard to describe.

@corasong:  Thank you, I love it. I love that it changes, like I mentioned it’s a deep rich blue most of the time, but under certain lighting it’s see through/light blue. I’ve never seen anything like it. The jeweler mentioned that Ceylon Sapphires have that characteristic. From what I’ve read online, I think the transparency’s a good thing… it has less imperfections.

@MyrtletheTurtle:  I don’t know if this counts, but I incorperated sapphires in my bands…
