I actually agree. A lot of times I can’t tell what someone is asking when they ask for opinions. That can be construed so many ways. That’s why my default answer is that if they love it, it is perfect for them. Usually they will then clarify if they just wanted to share it, or they wanted more specifics (did they get a good price, should they have gotten a different size stone, etc.)

Op, you are new, but there have been some threads before that were vague and when people gave answers, the person would become offended because they were asking something else. That’s why your first few answers were along the lines of “if you like it, we like it”.

MrsAL2012:  thank youuuuu. I didn’t realize asking a question made me “bitchy.”

Gorgeous ring – I love it!!!!!  If I had to do over again, I might’ve gotten a larger setting like yours.

I’m so happy with mine though!!!  Wear that lovely ring with pride – it rocks!!!  (no pun intended.)

Hodgy527: I too agree with MrsAL2012: . OP wasn’t clear on the kinds of opinions she wanted or how she felt. So many threads are about NOT liking the ring, it’s not obvious how OP felt about it – was she asking about value? about setting style? to get compliments on it?

I think that asking a question is not bitchy. It is never a bad thing to clarify.

lilsweetie:  thanks. Wasn’t expected to get attacked for asking a question. Your first reply is exactly what I was thinking but I didn’t want to overstep and come right out and say she might have overpaid If she just wanted us to tell her it’s beautiful (which is fine!)

I’m thinking the reason this question rubbed some bees the wrong way was because the way it was worded it could be construed to mean that the OP was fishing for compliments. A lot of times we have threads where the OP is like, “I’m so excited and want to share my ring!” But this was more ambiguous.

Personally, I do think the OP was just excited! Congrats, OP!

Double halo, airline, the split shank, pave… Not exactly my thing. It’s very trendy. That’s my opinion. Congrats on your engagement and I’m happy that you’re thrilled with the ring!

It’s definitely not my taste but I know that look is trendy. You love it and that is awesome.

missmewhenimhere:  I let him decide – he picked an emerald cut diamonds on the band 🙂
