That is a hard one to call. You look amazing in both. I don’t know why the sales associate thought she could make a shady comment like that. I disagree with her. You do not look dated. I’m a fan of the lace dress.

the woman at the store is an idiot and clueless about fashion today. Both dresses look good on you. I like the top part of the second dress, but not too crazy about the back part of the bottom. The lace look lovely on you. front and back. Don’t worry about lace being outdated. Think of it this way. In 10 years lace will still be in, and the odd modern cuts on the skirt part of the second dress will be outdated. remember the gowns from the 80’s? They were modern once too. hehe So go with the one you feel best in. you look great in both!

I will have to disagree with the majority. I do like the lace gown on you- it is absolutely beautiful. However– it is a gown style that one see’s often. It’s a very popular gown (not necessarily the one you’re wearing just the general idea of that gown) and it doesn’t stand out.
The satin gown is a stunner and it will render your groom speechless (and you know it) as well as be FAR more memorable for your guests. REALLY.
Lace gown= nice & also “done”
Satin gown= memorable and STUNNING

I am usually a satin girl all the way.. but that lace dress on you look just amazing! I think that’s the way you need to go, though they are both fabulous options!

I like the lace, but it’s a little to straight for my taste at the bottom, I like the Satin one a little more because of the fit and then the flare at the bottom, and while the lace one looks like it has a little flare at the bottom, it’s not enough for me. But I agree you look great in both. =]

LOVE THE LACE DRESS! It is just gorgeous!

Wow – I’m not sure if you’ve made your decision yet -but HAD to chime in. I am not a lace fan, and I LOVE the way the lace dress looks on you. It’s stunning and looks as if it was made for you.

@cliffette: I agree with you. sometimes (not in this case) certain styles of lace gowns seem to age some brides in a way that other fabrics don’t. (Of course, this is not always true.) maybe that’s what she meant, as opposed to meaning that lace itself is dated–which it most certainly is not.
i don’t generally like lace gowns for this reason, but I think this one looks beautiful on you. I even ended up buying a lace ballgown, so there are obviously some glaring holes in my little theory.

I like the lace dress on you… I was told that the lace dress made me look “dated” as well. I believe I tried on that same dress!

They are both beautiful. I have the Adorae so I’m a bit biased and will say go with the satin. How is your wedding theme? More modern and fun or classy and romantic? Maybe that can help you.

I love the 1975 casablanca dress so much! I just bought the same dress for a July wedding. It was the third dress I tried on and I fell in love with it! It’s different than any dress I’ve seen, and definitely flatters the figure! Looks great on you. The satin is really pretty too, but not as original! Good luck!

You look gorgeous in both. For me it just comes down to personal preference, and I prefer lace to satin. I agree with others that lace is timeless while the style of the satin dress is more trendy.
