@joya_aspera:  Yes- the Keurig’s! I hate hate hate those. What a waste! I just picture every home throwing away a little plastic container for every cup of coffee they make and it infuriates me!

@abax:  You can buy reusable K cups.  That’s what my husband uses – he scoops out his Maxwell House into the reusable cup and uses that.

I cannot live without deep double sinks! We’re house hunting now, and the one thing we will not tolerate for any amount of money is all the bedrooms on the same floor. Our bedroom and office upstairs (with full bathroom) and guest bed and bath on the main floor.

I would never buy a house with an oversized kitchen work triangle consisting of fridge, sink and  stovetop. Each leg should be under 9 feet.  To that I’d add a pantry closet within a few steps of your prep area.

I would not have a sink that couldn’t fit an oversized cutting board or cookie sheet in there to clean.  So much more convenient than two little sinks.

I would not buy one of those pot fillers behind the rangetop.  When they break it can be a real mess.

A side by side fridge can be the best of all worlds if it’s  wide enough,  but  unless you have a second freezer  big enough for platters, sheet cakes etc. I would opt for something different.

A fridge with an outside ice and water dispenser.  THEY BREAK!

An electric range because I like the control and power of gas.

A washing machine with a smaller capacity because I don’t like to do a hundred loads a day

A Keurig, because the coffee is just OK

Also, would not do a slide in microwave drawer. Not only will they not fit anything tall, but pulling the drawer out makes things spill.

@nerdybird:  don’t get me wrong, I’m stuck with electric,  too! I just dream of the day I can have gas…

@nerdybird:  I too hate stainless steel appliances….so cold looking! I bought all white for my white kitchen.

I do have a double sink but the middle part is pretty low so washing big dishes is not a problem!

I have a jetted tub and I HATE it! It’s a 90’s model with big jets that I have to buy special cleaner for. I want to tear it out! Maybe next year lol….

I currently live in a condo, but am hoping to move into something bigger soon.

-tandem parking, which is one car parked behind the other (common on townhomes), no way am I playing the car swapping game, it would drive us insane. Unfortunately this cuts our housing choices in half as most townhomes have tandem parking in our area.

-unfenced yards in townhomes, I am willing to give this one up if everything else is perfect but I really hate unfenced yards, it just feels like you can’t put any patio furniture or toys out there because anybody could just wander in.

– white tile, looks awesome brand new but impossible to keep white.

– real hardwood, our hardwood is scratched to crap, no way would I intentionally put it in my house.

– master bedroom on the main floor with the other two bedrooms upstairs, I just hate this layout.

– laminent counter tops, the finish wears off over time.

– side by side fridge, never enough room and I hate having to bend down to fish for stuff on the bottom shelf. I do have a deep freezer that I love though.

– corner cupboards, drawers are where it is at.

-bathroom cupboards, again drawers are way more practical.

– no rec room, don’t have kids yet but when I do I want to be able to kcik them downstairs with their toys instead of them invading my living room.

– storage, it is a must have for seasonal items.

Thats all I can think of at the moment.

@nerdybird:  Have you seen the new smudge proof stainless steel? I get drooly just watching the commercials. It is about time!

Also, waterfall showers are amazeballs. My SIL and Brother-In-Law have one and seriously I am oober jealous. One of these days!

I will never own a home with tile kitchen counters (white, ack!) or a sink with a rim. I will also never own a home that DOESN’T have a walk-in closet.

@kerensa:  I am stuck with a stand up shower only too in my downstairs bathroom.  It is literally impossible to shave your legs!  So my husband uses that one and I use the one upstairs that has the tub.

@AB Bride:  Although I love my pedestal sink and think it looks really pretty, I had to have my husband put up shelves in the bathroom cuz I need a place to put the everyday things.  When I remodel that bathroom, I may change it.

I would never buy padded toilet seats for my home. My friend recently bought a home and the first thing she did was go through and replace all the normal toilet seats with padded ones. I was horrified when she told me. I mean, I hate freezing cold toilet seats in the morning too but not enough to get padded seats!

HGTV lover here.

I love double sinks and all things stainless. I must say I have to constantly wipe my refrigerator. There always seems to be water from the water/ice dispenser running down the front.

I hate dark granite and despise carpet.

I love huge showers but not a fan of the waterfall showerheads.

@JenniferG:  Ah, that’s not so bad then. Somehow I doubt most folks do that though:)

1. I would never buy carpet floors because I think they are gross and harbor all kinds of crap, including hairs, backteria and if you have a pet I think they are just even worse.

2.  I would never buy white bath towels for daily use because I have no interest in changing them every month once they become yellowish (even chlorine cannot keep them totally white)
