Best advise I can give any bride is DO NOT buy your dress here. It was the biggest mistake I made.
The only time the staff was nice to me was when I came in at 1st (because they wanted me to buy.)
I was asked to pick 7-8 dresses that you would like to try on. No manufacturer info or style is available at all. I tried on a few but I was not at any moment allowed to be left alone with the dress the consultant was standing outside the swing door the entire time.
I wasn’t sure what dress I wanted. My mom loved a lace dress but I still wasn’t sure. I was quoted a price of $1,300.00 (approx) for the dress. They used a very high pressure method to get me to buy a dress with them. I was told by Yesesnia that if I left I would no longer be able to get this “amazing” price. The situations was so high pressure I didn’t know what to do. I was told that if I left a $100 non refundable deposit that would lock in the price and that if I wasn’t sure about the dress I could come back and choose another in 1 week, so I did.
I was told that if I paid cash only I would be able to get the dress (which after research I found to be Allure #8861) for $1,100.00 flat. I agreed because I had already put down the $100 deposit so I didn’t want to walk away empty handed. This store is in downtown LA and it advertises LOW PRICES.
So the dress was $1,100 which included $149 shipping fee. Ladies!! Salons don’t charge shipping unless its a rush. I found the dress at another authorized dealer for approx $760 (w/ tax & alterations). I contacted Ibex via email. I got 1 reply asking me for more info and then never heard back even after I called another 3x.
I was making payments on the dress and I communicated that because they advertised Low Prices and I found a significantly lower price thru an authorized dealer that they should compromise. I had 1 payment of $176 dollars left meaning I had already paid $924.00 for the dress that they should just let the price be $924.
It was time to pick up my dress. I spoke with Danny and told him I wasn’t asking for any money back. All they could offer was a $100 credit towards accessories. I didn’t want to spend another dime at that place. I asked if they could take that credit and pply it to the dress and i’d give them the remaining $76. But he said no.
At that point Danny said he didn’t want to talk to me because I was making him mad. He said he wouldn’t discuss it with me further. They wouldn’t let me talk to any owner or mgr. All I could do was cry. They hide behind their contract. Not criminal but completely UNETHICAL. Not worth the heartache.
The only person there who was a decent person to me was the seamstress who help me try on my dress and when she say me crying and I told her what was going on she was just as upset but there was nothing she could do.
If you have any questions at all about my experience shopping here let me know. I even contact my lawyer to see if there was anything I could do. He said there is nothing illegal done but this was just bad business. And I know I can share anything about my experience with this business as long as it is the truth. I was so upset that I am going to let anyone know and I hope that I can save just 1 person not have to go through what I went through. It really was a nightmare.
