Over the past couple of years I have been suffering from IBS. It use to be predominately constipation which didn’t bug me because I would have my coffee and that would keep me regular.
Over the last year though I have gone to more diarhhea, where the simplest thing would set my stomach off.
Now I hate calling in sick and barely do it (once this year and had to leave an hour early last week). But more and more I am finding my stomach bugging me and just wishing I could lay down for an hour and then bring work home with me that night when I feel better to work on it.
I have a desk job and a small office so when you go the office can hear and its awful.
Any bees out there suffer from this? Did you tell your boss to see if they could at least understand why you were off?

I have not been officially diagnosed with IBS, but deal with these symptoms often. I am a full time student and having bathroom issues has caused me to miss several days. I know how embarrassing it is. I think that if you have the type of work that could be done from home on ocassion you should talk with your boss.

Oh wow, I’m sorry to hear. I have the same problem… almost everything I eat makes me sick. I’m not sure what to do about the work situation.
Honestly, with my job (since I can’t just get up to use the bathroom) I really don’t eat much at all.. if anything I eat foods that I know for sure will be safe like snacking on vegetables or granola. Its so boring… but I just try not to eat anything that could give me problems until I get home. That’s just how I have to deal with it… I don’t really know what to reccomend because I have the same problem and have trouble too. =/
