Hmm…for some reason my whole question isn’t posting. I’ll try again. A pal asked my new hubby not to wear his ring at a party we will be going to, because his long time gf will be upset if she knew we had gotten married. Your thoughts?

Your husband’s friend is an idiot. Whatever his reasons for not marrying his girlfriend yet, he needs to own them, and not ask his friends to rearrange their lives for him.

Your husbands friend is dumb and I feel sorry for his girlfriend.

His girlfriend being upset that they are not married yet is not your husband’s problem. This friend needs to examine his own issues with his girlfriend and trying to get your husband not to wear his ring is a way of avoiding whatever problems he has with her. Not a good way to behave in a relationship and by agreeing your husband would be allowing him to conintue avoiding his issues. Definitely don’t do it and tell this friend to deal with his own shit like an adult.

If he was your husbands friend, why wasn’t he at the wedding? I feel like she should already know, being the LONGTIME girlfriend of a your hubby’s friend… Sounds a bit made up to me.

He’s an associate that we only see occasionally. We had a small (50 people) wedding. I wish this was made up, lol. Now it’ll be very awkward when I see them next week.
