(Closed) I'd love to hear from bees who weren't excited about wearing a long white dress!

I chose a traditional wedding dress and didn't love it, but it's the thing to do so I went with it. : (1 votes)

Why not just get a short wedding dress? Not something super sexy, but there are SO many great short wedding dresses out there.

.. Or maybe a gown with some color would help make things more fun?

I hated the full length dresses when I went shopping. They felt really claustrophobic. Tea length fifties shape for me, I love it! Think I will be twirling in my dress all day!

marryingbee:  Oh, I understand that fear, but seriously, NOBODY will mistake you for a guest at your own wedding, nobody! At the end of the day, you know, it is just a dress! And anyway, if you want a fabulous, kick-butt bridal dress, that STILL doesn’t mean it has to be floor length. I’ll post some examples..

Okay so here are just a few examples I got from a quick search. None of these look like typical “guest” dresses to me. Also, imagine that you’ll be wearing a veil, and also that people attending your wedding will most likely know at least vaguely who you are and that you’re the bride 😉

I am not a big fan of the white dresses either. I ended up finding a long dress but it is a blush/pink instead of the traditional white. If you can do a long dress I would try to go for a color. They’re pretty popular right now.

I thought I was going to be so into trying on wedding dresses, but turns out I really hate the way I look in them. Something about them makes me look like a little girl playing dress up. And I look bad in white. In the UK we don’t tend to have as much choice dress wise, and when you ask the consultant for something non white, they bring you ivory. I’ve ended up sewing my dress with my mum, not certain how that’s going to turn out though!

In Korea do you have any good designer dress rental sites? Maybe you could rent something more red carpet than bridal? It would be a great excuse to treat yourself to something you wouldn’t normally pay for from a label you really like.

You could always get a convertible dress.

I agree with Asteria777!  I can’t believe she was the first one to suggest a convertible dress.  You can do the traditional for the ceremony part, and then take off the skirt and have a short cute dress for the reception to have fun.  Gives you the best of both worlds! 🙂
