I love frozen blueberries, roasted chickpeas, mixed nuts, and veggies with hummus or greek yogurt dip.

I typically eat fruit for snacks, they are “pre-packaged”! Haha. I also love raw pecans and dried tart cherries. I buy them in the bulk food section, and mix them together. They are a really good sweet/tart/satisfying snack!

@mrsedwardslpn:  Try it! I started roasting chickpeas (garbanzo beans) when I went on the south beach diet years ago. I love crunchy snacks I.e chips. I buy them in cans, drain and rinse them, sprinkle with olive oil, salt, pepper, oregano, garlic and cayenne pepper for a kick. put them in oven until they get crunchy about 40 mins on 375. YUM!!! great on salads too.

Homemade granola bars (substitute oil for unsweetened apple sauce, sugar for coconut sugar, corn syrups for agavesyrup or honey).

Also fruit and veggie smoothies, hummus and gluten free crackers, apple or banana with peanut butter.

After school (I’m a teacher)  I usually eat:

  • wasa crackers with avocado
  • protein shake with flaxseed, carrots, spinach, soy milk, berries and yogurt
  • kashi cereal with coconut milk
  • hardboiled eggs
  • greek yogurt with grapenuts
  • apples with ricotta cheese

Lowfat string cheese, baby carrots, greek yogurt, roasted soybeans or soybeans in the pod, cottage cheese. I tend to go with higher protein stuff because it keeps me full, whereas having carbs just makes me hungrier.

I crave sweets and love ice cream so when that craving comes around I like plain Greek yogurt with a couple chocolate chips thrown in.  I also keep a giant bowl of fruit around to snack on stocked with apples, oranges, and cuties.
