I’m allure 9107 but don’t have pics of me. I think you’ll notice for most of us shorter girls the sheath/mermaid/fit and flare is the best option. I’ve seen lovely pics of short ballgown brides but for me… And most others I’ve talked to or seen post here, an aline or puffy skirt totally truncates ans cuts u in 2 and makes you look/feel even shorter.

I’m 4’11” and have found myself drawn to ballgowns! I would definitely take the inner-most crinoline out so it’s not overwhelming though.

tkim1016:  I don’t have a picture of my dress because it’s being tailored but mine is the same fit and train length as the one in your pic! 🙂 It’s a tulle material with diagonal “stripes” on the top some beading up top and lace on the bottom (like dojx dress). Mine is white. It’s strapless and a straight accross cut (not sweatheart neckline) but I am getting thick straps/shaw added to it so be covered up more. I am 5’1″ I am wearing flats with mine and have a catherdral veil.

I’m 5’2 and will be wearing Watters Austin with flats. I had them remove some crinoline and the train, but due to personal preference, not out of a fear of “looking short” or being overwhelmed by the dress or anything. Everyone attending my wedding knows I’m tiny already, and it is what it is. It’s my wedding day and I’m the bride – it’s not like a taller chick is going to show up in the same dress and the guests are going to be like “ew, she looks really short in that dress.” I did nix a floor-length dress for my Maid/Matron of Honor because I saw a photo where the MOH’s dress was bigger than the bride’s dress due to their height/weight differences, and didn’t like the effect, but that’s the only wedding decision I’ve made based on my height.

(This is not me, but should give you an idea)

I found that strapless, natural-waist dresses looked best on me when trying on gowns, no matter what volume the skirt was, because I could easily picture the skirt shortened from the bottom. I never cared for any of the sheath, trumpet, or dropped-waist styles, because the area between waist & hip was too long for my body, but this thread shows lots of brides who went that route and look amazing.

I’m 5’1″. I originally wanted a fitted, dropped waist style dress, but after trying one on excised that was NOT the style for me. It made me look pudgy and frumpy. So I tried this dress on and fell in love. Today is our two year anniversary. 🙂

I’m 4’10 and wore prety high ~3″ heels.  Fit and flare was definitely the way to go for me!
