we don’t have this problem, but if she wasn’t so active(bouncy off the walls almost 24/7) we probably would.

have you tried coating it in clear fingernail polish?

@bobbypinpearls– thats a great idea!

I have this issue too because Stew has a white chest and it is always grey where his tags rub. I just kind of accept it 🙂 I have shampoo that gets it out so he’s all shiny whenever he gets a bath… but yea. other than that he’s grey-chested.

Would it cost to much to have the other tag reprinted on a stainless steel?

@pansyshell:  Macazu will be coming out with a new product this summer that prevents fur staining, eliminates tag noise, prevents tag loss and prevents tags from wearing out.  Check it out at http://www.macazu.com as we will be on Kickstarter in Spring 2013.

Thanks,

Carol

Since the metal S-hook that comes with the tags is so flexible (close it with a pliers to attach) I was concerned maybe it’s made out of lead and that was what I was seeing on my dog’s chest/neck. Anyone know? Google was no help finding out what the S-hook is made of. I associate lead with being bad for your health so I am not excited if it’s not stable on my dog.

I did see a lobster clasp tag attachment device at the PetSmart check-out where their tags are sold and that one seems to be of a better quality metal. I use it for the dogs I sit to put a tag on them that says they’re with the sitter and has my info. It looks something like this.

dog tag snap hook
