While I don’t mind if people know I’m a bride, I too want a bit of a low-key party.

Some thoughts we’ve tossed around: spa day with the girls; dinner at a fondue restaurant; wine tasting event.

Good luck!

I would have loved to do a spa day and a nice dinner.  So fun and low key.  Or even just get a hotel room and have a few friends hang out with some wine and appetizers.  I had fun at my bachelorette party but I would of much rather had a relaxing night like that.

Wine tour?  A lot of people are doing that lately.  You can rent a limo, stay in a nearby hotel, etc.  There are also wine tour packages usually offered for groups.

Like Gemstone said, I’m going to a fondue restaurant and getting a mani/pedi with my girls.  Looking forward to it!  The whole peenie straw/hat thing and getting blitzed just isn’t my thing at all.

I want to do a nice dinner and then private dance lessons – maybe belly dance or pole dancing, though you can find private lessons for just about any kind of dance.  I think it will be fun and relaxed and a great way to hang out with my friends!

I also like the idea of a hotel room or even just someone’s house and having a slumber party type event – rent some movies, eat junk food, play games.

The other suggestions are also nice!  So many fun choices…

I second the wine tour, if you have good wineries nearby. Otherwise, a wine dinner would be great. I threw one for one of my good friends when I was her Maid/Matron of Honor. The Bridesmaid or Best Man and I devised a menu, then went to a local wine shop and asked for their help pairing wines with each course. We cooked the meal, served each of the wines, and had some nice desserts. It was a very laid back, fun, and delicious evening. Since we held it at the BM’s home, there was also no chance of the bride feeling like she was out advertising that she was the bride.

Other ideas: spa day, camping trip, dinner & theater, dinner & some kind of boat ride (depending on where you are), pottery painting & a nice luncheon. Hmmm, that’s all I’ve got for now. The comedy club idea sounds fun too!

I didn’t want a big deal either – i ended up wearing a cheesy veil.  I was pretty embarrassed but ended up with free drinks – and atleast it wasnt anything penis related!!

FOndue restaurant OR hibachi restaurant – both are more interactive and so fun!! Then maybe get a mani/pedi and go to a wine bar?

If you’re into sports a baseball game is fun, I’ve seen brides there! Or concerts, but that can be pricey

You could even do your own drink and food tour: drinks in one place, apps in another, dinner at another, then end up doing dessert elsewhere. It’ll keep the party moving! I’m sure there are chocolate or cheese tastings. Or what about a scavenger hunt?

A friend of my Bf’s is the ‘man of honour’ at a wedding and he is planning the bachelorette party now. They are going to do a belly dance lesson at the party room in their condo and then they are going out to a Moroccan restaurant for dinner and drinks that rents private tents and has belly dancers and stuff. It sounds like fun. I told my Boyfriend or Best Friend that I want a gay man to plan my bachelorette too! It sounds like they will have fun.
