I am a Community Support Worker for a 15 year old boy who has Autism. He’s high functioning, but his mind is at the level of a 7-8 year old right now. Anyway it was his birthday this week, and I’ll be seeing him tonight so I wanted to get him a little something, but I have no idea what to get him!!! I know he loves rollercoasters and lights (like coloured lights that flash and rotate – light shows as he calls them!) Other than that, I can’t think of anything else to get him…would anyone have any ideas at all?!

My little bro used to LOVE flashing lights as a kid – we used to go to toy stores and get him fancy flashing light stuff (err, I have no idea what they would be called) and he was thrilled about it. 🙂 He also loved glow sticks, so we used to put them in his stocking at Christmas and taped onto birthday cards.

@Ryansgirl: how about one of those things that projects the constelatins all over the walls?

@mwitter80: That’s an awesome idea!! I’ve never seen one though, would you happen to know where you could find one? Toys r us?
@jam: Great ideas!! I just got him some glow sticks last week because he was at this school dance, and apparently everyone else got a glow stick except him, so he felt left out 🙁 poor guy
