One of our groomsman and his gf just got engaged after our wedding. She is a new friend to me, but helped me out a ton for my wedding. My husband came home and said we will be having dinner with them on saturday, and I wanted to get her something. He told me that they are doing a justice of the peace, followed by a small reception. I had planned on getting her this “Bridal Bargains” book that had helped me out a lot, but now think it may not really fit the bill if they are doing something low key and small scale. Should I get her some wedding magazines? I really just want a small token to give to her for dinner. Any thoughts?

A couple wedding magazines and maybe a journal or blank book for keeping track of notes during the planning process?

@minniemluv: I thought of that, but maybe there won’t be a lot of planning actually to do. I forgot to mention they are getting married beginning of August… so I’m not sure how much she would actually be looking into that kind of planning stuff.
I wanted to get her a ring holder… someone got me one from Bed Bath and beyond, but ours doesnt have them in stock and I cant find one at the few places I know are close by. (i’m in an unfamiliar area so I only know my way around a bit, and now what stores we have in the local area)

How about some bride and groom wine glasses with a nice bottle of wine? (Or beer depending on their preferences)

@hollyberry4: Not sure if they are drinkers. But what about a bride and groom cookbook? Would anyone like to get that?

My BFF got me a book about intimate weddings and a ring holder and I was super happy with both. you could try gifty stores that sell knick-knacky things… like stores that sell umbra picture frames. Or maybe a nice bottle of wine/champagne and magazines. Or what about a new nail polish/manicure tools since she’ll be showing off her ring?

@nl: That’d be awesome because they can both use it. You could also give them one of your fav recipes and all the spices etc that go in it.

couple of magazines would be nice. My friend brought me over flowers which I thought was so nice. I got my friend a bottle of pink champagne and an engagement ring ornament (christmas time)

I’ve seen some cute baskets on Pinterest with a couple wedding magazines, nail polish, ring holder and jewelry cleaner. I think it’s a sweet little gift.

@nl: a friend got me a picture frame that was really bridal (pearls, silver, that type of thing). I loved it and it got me all excited thinking of the pictures 🙂
