@jackndiane:That would be plenty of “wow” for me!

I love all the little details (also with decor) that make up one big “WOW”.

We are doing a chocolate fountain, candy table  and an ice sculpture (luge) with a signature drink.  I needed one more  I like the photo booth idea.

You can have guests throw petals as you walk down the aisle in small paper cones, bubbles at the end for your send off, a live musician for the ceremony or cocktail hour, late night bits are a big trend now. At the end of the night you have the caterers bring out sliders and fries, mac and cheese cups, etc for the late night partiers.

Nothing wow factors a room more than custom lighting

I agree with Seaside – nothing pumps up a room more than lighting. If you’re having a DJ, check with him/her. Ours owns his own lights and is bringing them for no charge!

I agree with special lighting and fireworks!

We’re having our DJ do something called “liquid sky.” He uplights the dancefloor ceiling with blue light and then there’s these tiny lights that move all around the ceiling like stars.  It’s sooo awesome IRL.  Also, just in general if you have a great dj, people are going to have SO much fun, which automatically makes it a more “wow” experience for them.  They may forget details about how the reception looked, but they’ll always remember if they had a great time dancing!
