Hey NYC bees,
Next weekend we’re taking my best friend to NYC for her bachelorette. We’re going to go out at night and all that, but mostly we’re aiming for a fun, no stress girls weekend. We’re taking her out to dinner both nights, and maybe doing a fun brunch with mimosas for Saturday morning, but I’m struggling with ideas for Saturday afternoon.
I’d like to do something both girly and very “New York” but I don’t know the city very well. Any thoughts? We’ve tried to ask the bride what *she* wants to do, but she’s really stressed with work and wedding planning and I think she just wants us to take the reins on this one.
One idea I had was an afternoon visit to a spa for pedicures and facials and what not. Would anyone have any great ones to recommend? Also, any recs on a good buffet brunch place that’s reasonably fancy but won’t destroy our wallets?
We’ll be staying Midtown and branching out from there. Thanks for any advice!

What about a broadway show? It doesn’t get any more “New York” than that.
Here are a few shows that I think would be really fun for a bachelorette afternoon!
If you’re going to do a mani/pedi/spa thing, check out lifebooker.com which gives discounts on all spa services.
Another idea, what about Tea at Alice’s Tea Cup (if the bride likes Tea of course). It’s Alice in Wonderland themed, and sooo cute! I brought my sister here when she came to visit.
Also, check out restaurant.com for a restaurant for brunch. They sell gift certificates at 80% off face value so you can get a meal for a good discount. if you sign up, they will email when they are having a sale. You can choose the neighborhood you are looking for, the price point, and type of food and it will narrow it down for you.
Good luck! sounds like a fun weekend

Essex for brunch followed by tons of shopping in Chinatown, then hitting up Magnolia Bakery for cupcakes, stopping by Carrie Bradshaw’s stoop (right down the street!) and ohhhh, I don’t know, even MORE shopping on Bleecker Street? Yes.
Also: if you can, see Fuerza Bruta. It’s the most amazing show – but fair warning, if you go you’ll get wet. No joke. Google it for more info 🙂
