I am re-doing my centerpieces. I have 24 inch tall vases and willow branches… my theme is midsummer nights dream…. and I am LOST.
I made some previously and no one really liked them so I tossed them and am trying again.
heres the vases:

What about something like this? http://www.weddingwindow.com/blog/2011/11/15/branching-out-at-your-wedding/
You could still add flowers or any other embellisments, including some lightweight crystals or hanging tealights (as pictured).
You could use moss-covered styrofoam balls, or even lighted grapevine spheres like these, if you like them: http://designwotcha.com/design-guides/one-stop-christmas-decorating-ideas
Plugging them into an outlet might not work, but you could use LEDs or those “fairy berries,” especially if the grapevine spheres are not wound too tightly and you can manage to squeeze a few fairy berries in each sphere: http://www.save-on-crafts.com/fairyberries.html
Totally check out the video on the link above for the “fairy berries”! They are too cool and would add a very magical effect.

@HappilyEverAfter54: Where did you get your vase from? And have you decided on what your design is for your centerpiece?

You can fill the vases with crystal water beads. The site below has them for cheap.
If you want it to be a lit up, buy a large glowstick and stick in the middle. Then have the branches coming out the top.
