- Wedding: September 2013
I figured there are so many creative Bees here, someone could probably give me some ideas 🙂 I am thinking of having my wedding and reception at the National Aviary in Pittsburgh. The ceremony would be in the outdoor Rose Garden and the reception would be inside in the beautiful, glass-ceiling, domed Atrium. And yes, lots of birds! The facility rental includes access to several free-flying bird habitat exhibits.
I love the Aviary because for the first meeting of my SO and my daughter, we chose to visit the Aviary. It has special meaning to me, because that day marks the first day of our journey to becoming a family. Gosh, I tear up just thinking about it… what a sap, huh? 🙂
Anyway, I was hoping for some unique ideas for decor. I don’t have half the imagination some of the Bees do, and with such a distinct venue, I figured we could have some fun with it. So any ideas are appreciated! I’ve included some photos of the Aviary for reference.
These are from the Aviary’s website.

A Wompoo Fruit Dove – LOVE LOVE LOVE this bird’s colors!
Don’t know what this bird is, but purple is my favorite color and WOW, just look at it!

So, what do you all think? 🙂
