So above is where we are doing our ceremony (totally barebones view we took while checking things out so disregard the junk), we will have dark wooden folded chairs down the 2 sides, and we will stand in the center down by where that podium thing is. The right side overlooks a parking lot – I was thinking it would be nice to drape some sheer off-white fabric halfway up each pole and tie with a dark teal ribbons (my color).
Do you think that would look OK? anybody done this type of thing? I don’t want to spend a ton of $ decorating out there since we will only do the ceremony there, but will probably figure out some type of decor for the inner chairs down the walkway and do a runner. Any clever ideas, please share!

forgot to mention – looking over the left side is a pretty garden so I am trying to not have people staring out at cars while they wait for things to begin.

Would you maybe consider having your guests chairs face the garden and then your background would be the beautiful garden,,this may work better as well because the room looks longer the way you are planning,, the way I am suggesting your guests would be closer to the ceremony,,its a beautiful space though. Great place to decorate,,

I wood concentrate on the backdrop behind where you will stand as it’s what most will be looking at.

Also you could buy some used round lanterns in white and hang them from the ceiling, getting a few used wouldn’t be too expensive. It’s a great space!

If you want to stick with the layout you mentioned, sheers on the parking lot wall are a great idea. I would do white or ivory though, so you can sell them after. You could tie them with a teal sash.
Often you can find sheer drapes for less than the cost of fabric.
