I am trying to decide on ways to entertain at my small wedding reception… Less than 50 people, no dancing, just lots of GOOOOD food and wonderful cocktails (open bar!)
1. SLideshow of Fiance and I “through the years” and then of course, ends with us together/our engagement photos.
2. Since the wedding is in Hawaii I am going to have my 10 year old niece dance hula for my guests (changing out of her Junior bridesmaid dress into traditional hula attire) She is very good and I think it’ll be special.
3. That wedding game where bride & groom sit back to back and hold one of each of their shoes..and hold up the shoe of the person they think fits the question the best (IE, someone reads the question, who is a better dancer? Clearl we’d both hold up my shoe… I discovered this at my sister’s wedding when I did it for her and it was wonderfully funny!)
Any other ideas??????????? I don’t want people to be bored!

@S2013: Do you know anyone who is a good artist? They could do caricatures. You could also set up your own photo booth. My venue allows us to use tape and stuff on the walls, so we might just set up something ourselves like a backdrop.
I’ve also heard of people setting out board games and cards on a table so people who don’t want to dance can play them. If we do this it’ll probably be playing cards, chess, and mancala.
Do you have any good musicians that you know? Maybe a relative or friend can play a song or two for the guests?
If your reception is going to be outdoors you can set up lawn games like croquet and othere lawn games. And for indoors I’ve seen weddings that set up Rock Band and stuff.

Our weddings probably gonna be around 50-75 people and we live in Hawaii 🙂
I love hula, I’m probably gonna dance a song for our guests.
We are also gonna have some live music, simple kine, nothing crazy!
I also thought about doing one of those “I SPY” games and have them take pictures. Most people have cameras/cameraphones. I thought about putting different lists on each table and giving a prize for the first few people who send in their pics.
I like the photobooth idea & slideshow
Our reception will be outdoors under a tent & pavillion so we are going to have “portugese horseshoes” (pretty much trying to get a washer into a hole in a box). I’ve also found some easy outdoor games to DIY
Is your reception indoors or outdoors?

My reception will be about 60 – 70 people, and we have a few things planned..We aren’t big dancers either, and our reception is in the afternoon, so ‘dancing the night away’ isn’t really an option..:)
I ordered some of those wedding madlibs off of etsy and i plan on sprinkling those around the tables. We are going to have a DIY photobooth set up in the corner and at the end of the reception, I would love to have a pinata (or 2 – don’t know yet 🙂 ).
I really liked this brides idea with the random numbers on thank you slips..
I wont be making our pinatas though.. just buying them 🙂

I’m hanging a big frame and providing photo booth props as a cheap “photobooth”. I am hanging a white sheet in the background and making and buying the props.
