A bottle of wine is always a nice gift … assuming they both drink of course!

I also came across some monogrammed cutting boards on Etsy recently. A search will turn up tons of options.  It’s useful but still sentimental.

Lastly, you could do something like his and hers slippers. Include a note about how they are the “perfect pair”.

Whenever I don’t have a lot of money, I get people a movie night basket. I just fill up a gift bag or basket with a couple of DVD’s (you can get decent ones from wal-mart in the $5 bin) candy and microwave popcorn. Maybe even a couple pairs of fuzzy socks to throw on for a couch night. Everyone loves it!

How about monogrammed aprons? That is what I got my Boyfriend or Best Friend when she got married. I was a bridesmaid and had already spent way more than I had intended on the dress, alterations, etc. She loved it!

@wondersquirrel:  I like @QueenOfSerendip‘s idea. Any “date in a bag” idea is good. Some cute shaped pasta with a nice jar of sauce in a pot would be awesome.

My best friend and I also really like getting people board games for their wedding, as an incentive to have people over so they don’t get swallowed up in coupledom 🙂 Toys R Us often has sales on games.

– A few fireworks with a poem

– A self inking address stamp for the couple (like $8 via vistaprint) (check what their names and address will be post-wedding)

– A bottle of sparkling wine

– dummies guide to sex (or similar)

– anything from this list: http://uniquegifter.com/savings/super-cheap-gift-ideas/
