Looking for some ideas on songs that would work for a joint father/daughter and mother/son dance. I’ve searched the web and this site and none of the suggestions given really appeal to FI and I but we’re not giving up.

We used “Stand By Me”, but actually did a long upbeat version that is sold by “Playing For Change” (so we also effectively donated to charity). It is long, so we did our first dance to it, then did the father/daughter//mother/son simultaneously, then had everyone come out and do the “Anniversary Dance” to it. The DJ kind of messed it up, but it went well enough and got everyone on the dance floor 🙂
Here’s the song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Us-TVg40ExM
Great memories! Ahhh

“Baby Mine” from the Dumbo soundtrack. I’m either using a Brian Wilson cover or Alison Krauss cover. Such a cute song!

I promised my dad that we’d dance to “Landslide”- Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks. It always reminds me of my dad, especially during the part that talks about being afraid of changing because life was built around the person they love…I honestly can’t think of any other song I’d want.
