Hello bees! I have been on this website for months but this is my first post : ) So as I was reviewing the florist contract I finally admitted to myself that I didn’t like the centerpiece and could not stomach to pay that much for something I don’t like (and it was as low as I could go) My wedding has is vintage inspired. What are some alternative for centerpieces? Lanterns? HELP..wedding is six weeks away!!

Ooooh… you have TONS of options!! Lanterns, feathers, candles with or without mirrors, all of the above?

Buy books from a used book store or thrift store. Stack 3-5 of them on each table.Place a teacup and saucer on top of the stack, or, a milkglass bud vase or old bottle beside the books. Use only 1 flower or stem per vase- easily done for you by friends or family.
you can cover the books to use your theme colors:

I think mine are too beachy actually… lol

If you still want flowers, you could try to DIY paper flowers (I think Martha Stewart has the step by step online)

What about just buying roses in bulk and putting them in vases? You may find vases you like at TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, or Marshalls for $5-7.00 each. You could get either long stem or spray roses through Costco, Sam’s Club or online through someplace like http://www.fiftyflowers.com

the last picture you posted with the feathers with the light up vase is our centerpiece exactly! We are having lavender lights (wedding color) that will turn the feathers purple.
Totally AWESOME alternative!
