My mom and dad are celebrating their 39th wedding anniversary on Saturday. Typically they don’t really do gifts, but my dad wants to do something nice for my mom this year because they’re both feeling extra mushy and happy (because sister is about to get engaged lol). My dad has asked me for suggestions of what he can get for my mom that isn’t insanely expensive (no expensive jewelry or anything like that). I don’t know why but I’m drawing a blank! Any cool suggestions?

carmens: a weekend away? Show tickets? Private cooking class with a chef? help him put photos onto shutterfly or other photo site and create a photo album of the two of them through the years? Once you have the photos on shutter fly, you can also use them to create a video (complete with music) that he can email to her and/or post on Facebook for her- simple to do and that would really earn him mushiness points- lol! Recreate their first date??
to some degree, it depends upon their interests. Things that my husband has really appreciated are: unique antiques that he likes; the video from shutterfly; tickets to Atlantic city to see Jeff Dunham; surprise long weekend trip to Florida; cirque de solei tickets; etc.
for me, expensive jewelry is not my thing- so I tend to appreciate experiences, or thoughtful gestures.

A nice trip, a painting, tickets to a play or concert, massage, manicure/pedicure. I have tons of suggestions lol.

robsbeach: doberman: These are both good! I have no idea why I couldn’t think of anything other than jewelry lol, guess I’m not that creative today. I LOVE the shutterfly idea and think they’d both love that. I might tell him to do that combined with like movie tickets for a date night. Thanks guys!

carmens: great! Shutterfly stuff is always on sale- if he signs up, they’ll constantly email him coupons. the video was pretty easy to do- and I’m NOT tech savvy.
