Hi, I recently purchased by wedding dress. Initially I was going for tea length but surprised even myself by going for a timeless simple elegant dress. I am now having some trouble deciding what stye of bridesmaid dresses to get. I have 4 in total and as my dress is quite plain I know it sounds bad but I don’t want their dresses to outshine mine. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I have attached a model photo of the dress.

PS I still want them to have nice dresses ๐

Noleen: No bridesmaid dress is going to outshine the bride, so you can relax on that score. Have you chosen a color scheme and a degree of formality for your wedding? Do you have a venue?
Have you asked your bridal party what their budget is? Or are you buying their dresses? If so, what is your budget?

Noleen: Like the PP, color scheme, venue, budget? Do you want long/short? Any specific material do’s or don’ts?

Colour scheme will be either deep pink or purple, venue is a hotel (although church ceremony). We will be buying their dresses, budget is anything up to about £300 each. Initially I was thinking tea length for them also but not sure now. I would prefer not to have satin as that is the material of my dress

Noleen: Look at alfred angelo 7268S. Very classy and simple. It will compliment your dress, but won’t “out do” your dress.

Noleen: One other factor to consider is the figures of your BM’s. A satin dress is very unforgiving for anyone with any extra weight.

julies1949: they are all quite slim but I would prefer them not to have satin as my dress is satin (I’m a UK 10)

Noleen: Sorry- I must have posted that last one right as you replied. Is there a specific material that you’d like for them?

I might do something that ties back into your dress whether they are satin or a similar neckline, but of course nothing that will outshine you ;D
