I’ve totally run out of budget for my July wedding, and I just recently made a poster – about 2ft x 3 ft that I want to put up at the reception. Does anyone have any ideas on cheap ways to do this? I really can’t spend a bunch of money on purchasing a poster stand just to put this up for a few hours. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

What about finding a tall vase or something at a dollar store or thrift shop and putting it behind to prop it up against? I bought easels from our dollar store, but they were teeny tiny, they wouldn’t have been conducive for something the size you’re talking about…. Also, if the poster is kind of floppy, I would put it on a sheet of foam core (again, dollar store) to give it some rigidity.

Where are you getting married? If you’re at a place that ever hosts meetings, they’ll likely have a presentation easel available for use. Otherwise, maybe see if you have a friend that you can borrow it from their office for the weekend?

You can mount it on a piece of cardboard or foam core. Cut another piece of cardboard or foamcore in the same shape as the piece that props up a tabletop picture frame. Attach that to the back.

i got a table top easle at Michaels for $7.00 for our framed seating chart. however, i was worried it would be too heavy for the table top and emailed the venue and they told me that they had a few floor ones there and i was welcome to use them.
