I have always wanted my wedding reception to be a really fun and memerable time for my guests. My friend had entertainers in hers (she beat me to it =( lol) and everyone had so much fun. Have you been to a wedding/sweet 16 with entertainers? What kind? Looking for some creative ideas. I’m having a piano
and violinist at the ceramony and cocktail hour (Family friends) but I want the reception to be a little more exciting.

I am just going the live musician route, but originally I was looking into a similar idea and came across… caricturists, live painters, tarot or palm readers, professional dance couple, dualing musicians.

Most of our entertainment was geared towards our theme which was A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
During cocktail hour, we brought in a pair of statue artists dressed in Elizabethan era clothing. For the most part, they stayed still but would occasionally move to interact with the guests. It was fun to see since some people didn’t realize they were real until they started moving. We also had a caricature artist draw the guests.. again, in Elizabethan style clothing instead of what they were wearing. There was also A Midsummer Night’s Dream ballet performance with Puck and the fairies acting out a scene from the play.
My DH is Chinese so we had a martial arts performance and lion dancers as well.
And we had a live band.

Open bar and nice food are all the entertainment that most people need. Let people enjoy each other’s company, mingle, and make memories together; they will find that more valuable over time than a bunch of dancers or stuff like that.
