@sweetpea87: I like the idea of doing a slip. Have you thought of maybe getting a coloured veil or headpeice? Or coloured jewellery?

@sweetpea87: You could find some gorgeous jewellery peices with blue stones… I say go for it. Plus you can always wear them again or share them with other brides you know as their “something blue.”

I’m not wearing coloured shoes either. 😛 I want ivory boots.

If it’s pics like this you are hoping for, then I think one layer in a bright color would do the trick

Here’s another pic from an older post here on the bee that does show a colored crinoline, but do look at the top layer- that would be your slip. You could add a ruffle of colored tulle to the bottom of the crinoline you already have.

or add a bright ribbon trim to the edge of the crinoline you have

You could also stitch the colored ruffle onto the bottom of the dyed slip. It would give you the look of a dyed crinoline underneath without adding extra poofiness.

That’s a good idea. I wanted to dye mine too but I’m a scared cat so I’ve decided to stitch some colored tulle to the slip itself and then I will have that extra color I want with out dying my slip. I also love the colored ruffle idea.
