I have added a poll so that you can first of all, tell me if this dress is to short. I will have two taller bridesmaids.. one about 5’9” and one about 5’7”. Both will wear flats. I am 5’6”, and the girl who is 5’7” will wear the exact same size dress I am wearing, but the 5’9” girl will be one or two sizes up (5 or a 7)
If you DO believe it is to short, what ideas do you have to lengthen it? I’ve thought of adding lace, but I’m concerned that it will look sort of corny. I’ve also been told I could let out the hem, but will it then leave a row of holes where it was once sewn?
Here is the dress on the model:
Here is the dress on me. I went to try it on to see if was to short in real life. I sort of think its ok, but the fiancé thinks its to short:
Thank you Bees!! :-]

I think it’s fine. Just be aware that if any bridesmaids have a bit of a butt, it’ll look shorter in back and they might want to go a size up to be mindful of that (I have this problem with short dresses). It’s definitely not too short, though.

I think it’s pretty short. I rarely wear things that short even on a casual basis so you can chalk it up to that if you want to… I’m pretty tall and that would make me a little nervous! I do have a sweet idea to lengthen it though! I saw a photo of a wedding that had the bridesmaids in black dresses with a petticoat/slip showing underneath that was a vivid contrasting color… the photo just showed that the slips matched the bright flowers of the wedding, and each girl wore a different shade of slip… (The slips didn’t really look like a slip but just a different colored layer of the dress. It really looked stylish and just perfect for a bride who loved bright colors, but didn’t feel like her friends had to wear fushia, orange and lime green dresses.)

Such a cute idea, then they could take it off later.

I personally think it is a little too short. If I were wearing it as a bridesmaid I would be uncomfortable with the length. That being said, I think it is something you should talk with your bridesmaids about. If they are comfortable in the dress, then why not? Especially if it is what you really want.

I think its pretty short. Anything shorter than knee length then you have to worry about sitting and exposing yourself. Other than that its a really cute dress.
