I can’t help with identifying it, but I’m a bit concerned that the replica dress is actually a maternity dress.

That would be my concern with the dress – that if it is’t actually a maternity dress, it will make you look that way. I am plus size myself and that style was HORRIBLE on me (though I could wear an empire line waistline if it was with an a-line skirt with a lot of structure to it).

In My Humble Opinion, the only girls who could wear that dress (apart from pregnant girls) would be very slender girls with no curves at all, or girls who are so top-heavy that the dress flows directly from the boob and doesn’t so much as suggest a belly. For everyoe else, it’s a bit dangerous.

@JL4SM:  I’m apple too and it was a mega fail.

But it depends on how you define apple. Some sources define it as top-heavy (bigger bust than waist and hips) – if that’s what you are then you could give it a go. But I think of apple as being middle-heavy (what I am).

By The Way it’s not that you aren’t on the right track. The draping and neckline are all good ideas. You just might need something with more structure. For example, this is the dress that mine is based on – mine is going to have a bottom layer made from duchess satin so it flares out more as an a-line shape, but the draping is basically what I will be having.

Same chiffon fabric as the disastrous empire line I tried on, but totally different style and look.
