So…i recently came to find out someone was using my social security number, name, address, etc. to open accounts and spend money. I am devastated. What’s worse is, the person stealing my identity is one of my parents. I had received letters in the mail about how they were going to make my life difficult, and they weren’t kidding. I am so upset and overwhelmed. Not sure what I am looking for with this post. Just felt like venting, I guess.

As much as people here about the big criminal rings getting people’s info and stealing their idenity, it is very comon for it to happen in families. It has to be such a hard thing in these cases because on one hand, they are your family. On the other hand, they have basically robbed you blind.
*hugs* I hope you can get it sorted one way or another.

Oh no that is awful, I’m so sorry and to have your parents do it is even worse. I hope you kept the letters and go to the police to get this worked out before it ruins your credit.

Wow! That’s extra awful to have a parent do that. I just can’t even fathom. Are you not close?
