Im having black bridesmaids dresses because my theme is black and white (damask) with a little dash of yellow 🙂 but Idk what the guys should wear? The girls are having bright yellow calla lily bouquets and I want the guys to wear suits. I originally planned on them wearing a white shirt with a skinny black tie but I dont want my fiance to blend in with them too much :/ what should the guys wear? black shirts with yellow ties with a suit? white shirts with yellow ties? or should I just get over it? any ideas?

I’d say: Black suits; black shirts; yellow vest/tie. And yellow bouteniere to match the bridesmaids’ flowers.
What’s your Fiance wearing?

I like @AmeliaBedelia:‘s suggestion of having the guys have a pop of yellow. If you want to stay simpler and not use vests, I found a yellow/black damask tie here. A yellow pocket square adds a nice little accent as well, but if the guys go with the more interesting tie, maybe have Fiance be the only one with a yellow pocket square.

If you aren’t totally against the idea of just your FH wearing a suit, check out the following.
While these guys are wearing brown, imagine this sort of thing with them wearing black with yellow ties:

I’m sure you could find a great tie with some yellow incorporated into it! Try http://www.thetiebar.com it’s a great site where we got all of the ties for our wedding!

fiance is wearing a black skinny tie with this suit 🙂 http://www.jcrew.com/wedding/Wedding_Groom_Groomsmen/tuxedos/PRDOVR~20563/20563.jsp’ defer=’defer
and the guys want to personally buy their own suits for later use so the vest idea wouldnt work for us :/ however Im considering either a black hirt with yellow tie with a suit, or do you think thats too much black??
thanks for all of your input guys 🙂

@Verachka: I feel like that might look a little ‘bumble-bee’-ish, personally. Why not a yellow skinny tie and a white shirt with a black suit?

Maybe your Fiance could wear a white bout while the GMs wear yellow ones?

Here are some ideas to distinguish the groom from the groomsmen
a fun tie with the black suit & white shirt for either your Fiance or the groomsmen, the other can wear a plain black or plain yellow tie-
and here is a picture…they used white flowers with yellow ribbon for the groomsmen and you could reverse it for the groom.

@Brianalaura thanks for your input… I didnt really think of it that way so thats a no to the black shirt idea 🙂 so Im thinking a the groomsmen will wear yellow ties with white shirts, does that break the rule of guys ties need to match the bridesmaids dresses? Or does it just come down to the colors being compatible and complimenting each other?

…Also for the groom he will have a black anemone boutonniere while the groomsmen will have a yellow calla lilly boutonniere to match the girls bouquets 🙂
