I’d still stick with a 1-2 carat stone.

I’d be rocking a canary diamond if money were no object!

I’d probably want 1-1.25 carats though. I wouldn’t want to go much bigger than that.

@ladyamalthea:  I think it all depends on the proportion you like on your finger. I have larger fingers and like a larger % of finger coverage, so I’m hoping to get a ring that covers more of my finger anyway.

I’d go my exact quality, cut etc but about a 1.5 or maybe even less. mine is .75 so anything over 1 would make a big difference since I have relatively small fingers (I 1/2 – not sure us equivalent)

I would get a 3+ carat diamond just to have, to stare at! I collect gems/rocks, so heck yes, I’d add that to my collection if I could afford it! To wear I’d max out at 1.5cts probably. I have a 2 or 3ct opal with a diamond halo that is an heirloom that I can never wear, it’s just too big for my skinny fingers and is uncomfy. I like to put on a ring and forget I’m even wearing it. I am getting it made into a necklace because of this and I think it’s going to look stellar. Although everyone else will get to see it more than me.

For diamonds…colored is my fav at the moment. I am totally fascinated with champagne and pink right now.

ladyamalthea:  I do wear a 3 carat diamond,  everyday, so yes, yes I would. It’s triple EX cut, G color, SI1 eye clean. I love it!

In my area and social circle no one has even thought to question it’s authenticity. That whole “if it was of X size i would assume it’s fake” thing is something I’ve only heard of on this website…does not happen where I live.

I am a ring size 3.25 and think it looks fabulous on my tiny hands. Quality AND quantity was my desire 🙂

I have small hands and short thin fingers. and I would rock as big of a stone as I could get.

Hmm, I wear a 1.71 ct diamond now, so I probably wouldn’t have a big issue with going over 2 ct. Over 3? Well, I’d have to see it on my hand, but I wouldn’t rule it out! A larger stone makes everything I love about a diamond easier to see!

I don’t think so. At one point, I’d be all for it, but my choice in rings has gotten consistently smaller. I started with a 2ct round diamond, and ended up with a .5ct sapphire flanked by .25ct diamonds. It seems to suit me better.

I would get a 2 ct natural colored stone: champagne or pink diamond or peach sapphire.

I would get a 5-6ct ACC.  My 2.8ct is great for everyday, but if money were no object, I do have 5ct dreams, lol.

I have a four carat ring ( solitare tiffany style setting in white gold) and personally love it, but I am not a small stone girl, for me the bigger then better, if I could afford to go bigger, I would even go to five, but I think it all comes down to personalty when choosing a ring, some people like small stones, some people like big,  I like big stones for jewelery in general even though my hands are super small,  I thnk anyone of any size can pull off what ever stone they want just as long as they feel good wearing it.

    Hmm…

Looks wise I have always been drawn to dainty diamonds. I have always found understated to be beautiful.

    OR…

A Pretty large (3-4 carat) Asscher solitaire on a plain band.
