If you are 10 days late, it should almost definitely show up.

And the pregnancy is dated by your last menstral period so you would actually be ~5 weeks pregnant at this point.

If your period is that late, you should absolutely take a test! It would definitely give you an answer.

Why not just take a HPT?  Or have you already and it was negative?

@AcheneMalefic:  Home pregnancy tests can be accurate as soon as one day after your missed period, but almost all of them will be accurate at one week after your missed period.

You wouldnt have a high enough beta to be recognized. Wait until one day past your period. Medically speaking you couldn’t be 1 week and days pregnant because at that point there is still just a fertilized egg, nothing more.

If you’re ten days past your period due date aren’t you at least 5 weeks pregnant? The usual measurement of pregnancy is “gestational age” – doctors measure your pregnancy from the last period, not the missed period and the baby was conceived 3 weeks ago (foetal age). Does that make sense?

@ActofValor — Look into the Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy.. Its informative and funny to read.

If you are not going to test again for a few weeks, I would recommend taking prenatal vitamins just in case. They are most important in those very early days of development and if you are planning on TTC after the wedding it is not a bad idea to be on them (Not a doctor here just passing on what I have been told). I took them before my wedding because they work wonders for your hair and nails (and we were planning on “pulling the goalie shortly after)

@AcheneMalefic:  “(Since this is the only time we’ve had sex since the last period, that would be the time of conception.)” Not entirely true, you could ovulate five days after you had sex, but one little swimmer could still have fertilized the egg, and that is generally how conception is defined =) Definitely second the TCOYF idea. Good luck!!! You took a first reponse test and first thing in the morning right?

@Mrs. Aardvark:  I second this! I have taken prenatals for years for benefits on hair and nails.
