I have a FB moissy and while I do love it, I think if money were no object, I would have definitely gotten a very light lilac/lavendar or blush pink emerald-cut sapphire set in rose gold with baguettes on the side. Fiance has already said that sounds like a lovely “push present” in a few years

A pale yellow radiant cut into an octagon.  No one does this because stones are cut to maximise weight.

I’m a sapphire girl, love the color so much more than the clear stones regardless of price.  Also, the design of the ring is so much more important to me than the center stone – it all has to flow together.  Hopefully it comes soon so I can show it off!  I guess money was not the limiting factor on mine, it was an activity level thing on my part.  It had to be a reasonable size so as not to run into things when my klutsiness and outside activities collide.  I wouldn’t change it regardless of how much could be spent.

If money were no object, I’d have a 2ct oval or pear diamond, colorless or with color. I absolutely love what I’ve got, but a girl can dream, right? 🙂

jessjlstar:  Thanks for the recommendation!  I’ve never seen a concave in person, but have seen some pretty pictures online.  Since the stone was the only thing I really left up to my fiance to pick, I tried to stay out of it as much as possible.  So I don’t think it’ll be concave, but who knows.

Also, I’m joining the purple gemstone club with this one (hopefully lighter purple, love how they shine)!  The ring’s being made, the center stone already picked out and ready for placement at the jeweler’s.

jessjlstar:  My ring is going to be beeautiful!  I can’t find a real pic of it online, only clunky looking drawings so for now I’m only trying to describe it.  The center stone is around 6.5 mm. There are two diamond side stone that are pear shaped (.15 ct each), but they are oriented off-kilter to the side to appear kind of like the guard leaves at the bottom of a flower and they are bezelled into the ring at the same height as the band.  There is a row of pave stones running along the edge of the band right next to each the side stone, which curves over to prongs that look like petals in a setting that is almost semi-bezel.  Oh yeah, it’s all platinum.

Overall, it’s cute, looks just like a classy minimalist flower, is low profile.  I love it.  Will definitely share pictures whenever it decides to arrive.

jessjlstar:   If I could have any ring in the world I’d choose my heirloom ring all over again.  It’s from my FI’s grandmother and I just adore it – it’s an Old Mine Cut.

If money was no object, I would choose my dream ring, which would be

and it would have pink diamonds for the center stones.

Obviously, pink diamonds are stupidly expensive, so that won’t happen anytime soon!
