(Closed) If not attending, how much should a wedding gift cost?

I think $25-$50 is a good number, but it probably depends on how close you are with the couple and why you arent attending.  Very close family member and you cant make it due to work…maybe a little more.  Somone you work with and you have plans with other friends…$50 is probably fine.  Either way, a gift is a gift and the acceptor will be grateful and appreciative no matter how much you spent.

I usually spend the same amount on the gift if I attended or did not attend, which is $75-$100, sometimes I’m with my Fiance so the gift is from the two of us. Occasionally I spend a little more if I didn’t attend bc I didn’t have the extra cost of traveling to spend on getting to the wedding.  I think $50 is a good amount if you are not close to the couple, but generally I’d say spend whatever you are comfortable spending.
