@notsowickedstepmom:  No, but you’re paying for the wedding. You should be invited to the rehearsal dinner. Without your money, there would be no rehearsal dinner or wedding. :/

I’m gonna go with, you guys are paying for the wedding, therefor you are invited by default?

You are invited by default because you ARE immediate family, whether she likes it or not.  You are married to her father.

I am sorry that your family dynamics are so screwed up that you would wonder if you are invited to the rehearsal dinner.  I think that continuing to treat your stepdaughter with kid gloves is NOT the way to go.  It will only encourage her bad behavior.

@notsowickedstepmom:  You’re right, you are supposed to be invited, as far as etiquette goes.  However, I get the distinct impression that the bride has excluded you for whatever reason.  Your husband needs to tell his daughter that he is expecting to bring you so that there’s no confusion.  It’s his battle to fight, not yours.

You’re married to the father, you should absolutely go. Makes no difference whose paying, you should be invited either way.
